Hail Music! The Splendors of Song (Friends & Family Concert) | Orpheus Pagan Chamber Choir

  • Washington Park United Methodist Church 1955 South Arizona Avenue Denver, CO 80210 United States (map)

Our Friends and Family preview concert is family-friendly, featuring selections from our joyous “Hail Music!” concert in May. With its 1-hour length and low ticket prices, this interactive daytime concert can be an easy, fun-filled highlight of your weekend adventures!

Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “Serenade to Music” is the centerpiece of our salute to music, alongside delightful music by English Baroque composers Henry Purcell (from his “Queen Mary Birthday Ode”) and John Blow.

Featured, too, is Ireland’s “Song of Amergin.” Its lyrics comprise the earliest statement of Irish spirituality, set to contemporary music that echoes 16th Century British choral music.

Classic meditations on famous texts about music complete the program, with music by Dan Forrest, Kim Andre Arneson, Mark Sirett, and many more.
