A Wild Mountain Americana Concert. Follow the timeless tale of Barbara Allen in a musical journey from London’s theaters to the porches of Appalachian homesteads — from plaintiff Baroque ballads and Celtic songs to wild mountain blue-grass tunes. Compositions by Henry Purcell, John Playford, ballads collected by Francis James Child, and tunes composed by the collective hands of generations of fiddlers and pipers. This collaborative septet features internationally acclaimed Cynthia-Miller Freivogel violin; Colorado’s own Carla Sciaky a multi-instrumentalist, folkie and Baroque violinist; together with talented musicians from The Chivalrous Crickets.
